Center for a New American Security

Melanie Baier serves as the Executive Assistant to the President and CEO at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). 

Before joining CNAS, Melanie acted as the Scheduler and Executive Assistant to Congressman Tom Petri of her home state of Wisconsin. 

Melanie graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Political Science, International Affairs and Spanish from Marquette University.  At Marquette, Melanie assisted with research as part of the African Tobacco Situational Analyses Project in coordination with the Bill and Linda Gates Foundation and the Canadian Government.  She also studied at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid and the Universidad de Barcelona in Spain, focusing on Spanish language and literature.
