There are so very few great moments of Scottish athleticism that I had to share this one.

What about this one?
Oh, wait, sorry -- that was against Scotland. At least they got to witness it up close.
Crazy thing about that soccer game is that Scotland had to weather serious pressure from Macedonia (especially in the first half) to even be in position to win. Great header by Brown for the first goal, though.
James 'Mr. Inconsistent'
James 'Mr. Inconsistent' McFadden. A few moments of sheer, absolute genius; majority of the time goes missing for 90 minutes, much like his entire career at B'Ham. Come Wednesday they are going to get pumped by Holland.

...And to think we smashed them at home and then messed up, drawing against Gudjonsen (and 10 of his mates) in Reykjavik. Argh.

Very Scottish that as he wheels away in celebration the advert on the hoardings at that time is for "Pukka Pies". Only in Scotland.

It's a shame McFadden's suspended for the game against Holland, remember his goal against France?

Yeah, like Baa-Baas v. All Blacks in 1973?
One thing you'll notice is that basically all the names called during that Barbarians' sequence are Welsh ones. You know, guys from a real rugby-playing country.
Two things on that match, btw:
1) If you want to see more highlights from it, including another great (disallowed) try and easily the least intimidating Haka in history, check out this clip.
2) Do any rugby historians or masters of minutiae know why Edwards (and several other Welshmen) wasn't wearing red socks during that match? Looks like he's wearing black.
Gulliver: I'm no rugby
Gulliver: I'm no rugby historian- I prefer proper sports, like football ;) - but I think the reason for the sock thing is that players wear their club socks when they play for the Barbarians. So I assume whichever team Edwards played for wore black socks.
Mike -- Now that you say
Mike -- Now that you say that, I think you're right. For some reason I was thinking they wore their national side's socks.
