Rohde Q&A

David Rohde is doing a Q&A feature with Times readers, and the questions are incredibly wide-ranging. Credit goes to the reporter for taking the time to answer the hard ones head-on.

I wonder how it looks to Pakistan that as they're brining the hate to the baddies in the FATA, we're pulling troops out of the far-flung outposts in the East....

Well, moving troops out of Nuristan to send them to Khost is hardly a retreat in the East -- more a repositioning.

Are whole battalions making moves like that, from one province to another? Or is it more like within the AOs that already exist, battalions are shifting their companies toward the towns?

one of the greatest movies of the last ten years

Alex - Would you explain what is great about it as a movie?

Margaret: it contains the most lucid explanation of American foreign policy I've seen in the last decade.

Josh - Yeah, too bad it isn't all just a bad dream.

Too bad and very sad.

Onward...

Avenged sevenfold. Out of Afghanistan, NOW.
