I would imagine that peoples more pressing priority is local governance, not international relations. I can think of a couple of reasons why the "international community" chose this way to go about it though.

Maybe she's running for NY Gov (easy against Rudy whose standards may have been in his prostate gland and now even NYers are sick of him) and then in 2012; for I hear President. Obama is sick of it all because his wife is sick of the threats and the abnormal years for the girls. But Hillary is told by Bill to play the Right Wingers’: “NO DEAFEAT, NO RETREAT!” so she can get the Teabagers on her side to replace Obama four years earlier than planned. I'm glad that nowadays we hear less about Afghanistan. It means that less people are killed, there are less fights and terroristic acts. I think it would be difficult for any person to become the head of this country.
