Sara Conneighton is the External Relations Associate at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). She joined CNAS in 2010 as the Executive Assistant to the President and CEO.
Previously, Sara worked in strategic communications, providing public relations support and communications counsel to renewable energy/green technology companies and education sector clients. During the 2008 campaign cycle, she was a member of John Edwards’ presidential campaign staff in New Hampshire, serving as Special Assistant to the State Director and contributing to multiple aspects of the campaign. Before joining the Edwards campaign, Sara worked with the One America Political Action Committee in Washington, DC.
Sara received a BA in Government and International Relations from Smith College. She also studied at University College London, concentrating in European politics.
She is originally from New Hampshire and currently resides in Washington, DC.
