In Afghanistan, Training Up Is Hard To Do

"If we are going to depart Afghanistan, the only way to do so and be secure is to have a reliable Afghan security force appropriately sized, working for a reasonably well-respected, well-supported Afghan government," said Nagl. "That's a work of three to five years and more resources than we have yet put into Afghanistan."
