The US Congress has begun poring over the details of President Obama's budget presented earlier this week.

The members of the House and Senate will have noticed that there are a few areas such as defence where government spending is to increase - despite the spiralling deficit.

Travis Sharp is a research associate at the Center for a New American Security in Washington and he says that defence spending is unlikely to be cut.
