January 27, 2009 -- U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates calls Afghanistan America's greatest challenge, and at the top of President Barack Obama's agenda.
Gates said success in Afghanistan will depend on building up Afghan forces. Otherwise the U.S. may simply become another great power that lost its way in Afghanistan.
