Alice E. Hunt was a Research Associate for the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) until February 2009. Prior to joining CNAS, she was a Research Consultant with the Post-Conflict Reconstruction Project at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), where she produced assessments of recent joint and service training developments in the U.S. military, and conducted research on emerging counterterrorism efforts in the intelligence community. She has also worked with the International Labor Organization, the Office of Congressman Jerrold Nadler, and the Public International Law and Policy Group. She is a fellow with the Inter-University Seminar on Armed Forces and Society, a member of Women in International Security, and served as a member of AmeriCorps from 2002-2003. Hunt received her B.A. in government from Smith College and her M.A. in foreign policy and international affairs from American University, where her thesis was on the topic of civil-military relations and humanitarian intervention. She speaks French and Spanish.
