Whitney M. Parker

 

Director of Business Relations

Whitney Parker is Director of Business Relations for the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). In this role, she manages the production process for all CNAS publications and oversees branding and design for the web and print purposes. Additionally, Parker is the coordinator for all CNAS fundraising efforts. Prior to joining CNAS, she was Director of Communications at the Center for Defense Information (CDI) and World Security Institute (WSI), where she managed all aspects of public affairs and strategic communications, including media relations, publications, electronic communications, and events. Previously, she was a research assistant for the Straus Military Reform Project and Space Security Project with CDI. Before joining CDI, Parker served as a research intern at the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation, and as a research assistant for The Wilderness Society and Boise State University in Idaho. She has worked as a consultant for numerous non-profits, including Economists for Peace and Security, the Security Policy Working Group, the Snake River Alliance, and for various political campaigns. Parker holds an M.A. in international relations from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University specializing in intercultural communication and negotiation, and a B.S. in political science with a specialization in international relations and certification as a professional mediator from Boise State University.
