Since its inception, the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) has sought to promote strong, pragmatic and principled national security policies. CNAS has also provided a space where Republicans and Democrats, civilian and military professionals can come together to debate and develop new strategies to address the critical national security challenges facing the nation. With this in mind, we have established the National Security Leaders Forum (NSLF) as a platform for senior civilian and military leaders to address the Washington policy community and media on the most important national security issues of the day.
To date, the NSLF has been an unqualified success. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Michael Mullen give his first public speech as Chairman with CNAS, and we have hosted events with the Chief of Staff of the Army, Chief of Staff of the Air Force and the Chief of Naval Operations. These events have received significant media coverage and have helped establish CNAS as the preeminant think tank for centrist and pragmatic national security policies.
