Travis Sharp

Bacevich Fellow

Travis Sharp is the Bacevich Fellow at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). Prior to joining CNAS, he served as Military Policy Analyst at the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation, where he started as a Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellow.

Mr. Sharp has published articles in several peer-reviewed journals, including Joint Force Quarterly, Parameters, and Defense & Security Analysis. He has written essays commissioned by numerous think tanks, including the Royal United Services Institute, the Carnegie Council, and the Institute for International Political Studies. He is a regular media commentator and has published op-eds in such venues as the Christian Science Monitor, Washington Times, Politico, ForeignPolicy.com, Defense News, and The Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists. His work has been included in the curricula at several public policy graduate schools and featured in academic textbooks about U.S. government. He has briefed senior officials from the U.S. government and private sector, and has spoken at various academic and policy conferences.

Mr. Sharp holds a B.A. in Politics and U.S. History from the University of San Francisco.
