Research Areas
Mikhail Grinberg is a Principal at Renaissance Strategic Advisors where he consults corporate, financial, and start-up clients in the aerospace & defense industry across multiple functional areas to include: corporate strategy and planning, mergers and acquisitions due diligence, and competitive analysis. Mikhail leads Renaissance’s advanced technology practice and has a particular interest in helping firms develop growth strategies with new capabilities and business models. He also specializes in working with commercial firms seeking to enter the national security market and with international firms that are building a US presence. He has led multiple engagements in autonomy, C-UAS, hypersonics, directed energy, augmented reality, unmanned systems, space, and other critical and rapidly changing technology and market areas. Mikhail has done extensive research and writing on defense procurement reform, innovation, and technology management.
Prior to joining Renaissance, Mikhail worked at Jane’s Information Group and subsequently at Deloitte Consulting, supporting the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community (IC).
Mikhail was one of the founders of The Strategy Bridge, a national security focused non-profit and journal of which he is currently a Board Member. He also serves on the Board of Directors of YPFP, an organization dedicated to promoting a new generation of foreign policy leaders. Previously he has served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Defense Entrepreneurs Forum. Mikhail was a Visiting Research Fellow at the National Defense University from 2016-2017 where he helped think about how to commercialize government innovations.
Mikhail holds a Master’s in International Security and Terrorism from the University of Nottingham, UK and a Bachelor’s in Political Science and History from the University of Massachusetts.
