Omar Mukhlis

Research Areas

Omar Mukhlis is the Joseph S. Nye, Jr. Middle East Security Intern at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). At CNAS, his work focuses on Iran, Iraq and health security within the region.

Before joining CNAS, Omar Interned for the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and prior to that the Washington Institute for Near East Policy; where he also served as the Research Assistant for the Military Security program.

Omar earned bachelor’s degrees in Biology and International Relations from SUNY Geneseo and is currently a Masters student at George Washington University studying Security Policy.
