As Yemen escalates, White House doubles down on Iran diplomacy.

A day after America stationed an aircraft carrier off Yemen’s coast, the White House insisted that escalating tensions over the country only strengthened the case for striking a nuclear deal with Iran.

The war-torn Arabian nation of Yemen has emerged as a surprise complication in the late stages of President Barack Obama’s nuclear diplomacy with Tehran. But White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Tuesday that Iran’s intervention in Yemen’s civil war “is not a reason to break up those negotiations — in fact, it is a very strong incentive for those negotiations to succeed.”
