WASHINGTON -- The Quad foreign ministers of the U.S., Japan, India and Australia met at the State Department on Tuesday, the second day of U.S. President Donald Trump's second administration.

On his first day at the department, Secretary of State Marco Rubio hosted Japan's Takeshi Iwaya, India's Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and Australia's Penny Wong, signaling that the four-way gathering will remain a centerpiece of American diplomacy in the Indo-Pacific region.
