Research Areas
James Sanders is a research associate for the Technology and National Security
Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). His research focuses
on the implications of artificial intelligence (AI), including how compute policy can
be used to manage the risks and opportunities of advanced AI systems.
Before CNAS, Sanders worked for Epoch AI studying trends in AI capabilities and
infrastructure and worked as a quant trader at Susquehanna International Group.
He holds a BA in mathematics from Rice University.
