BBC Business Today: China Defends Rare Earth Export Controls amid Tensions with USA
Senior Fellow and Director of the Energy, Economics, and Security Program Emily Kilcrease joined BBC to discuss rare earths minerals and the US-China relationship. One of the major sticking points between the US and China is rare earths. And Beijing has been defending the new export controls it announced on them last week. These metals are crucial to the manufacturing of many electronic goods but China controls global supplies.
