Justin Reynolds

Justin Reynolds has nearly 20 years of experience working at the intersection of technology and geopolitics with a focus on Russia, Iran, and China.

At Facebook, he led a strategic review of the platform's global trust and safety efforts, securing extensive increases in product, policy, and operational resources to provide protections for users regardless of their language of choice. He also led teams that reduced avenues for abuse of Meta’s platforms to incite violence or interfere in elections across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

At the fintech firm Robinhood, Reynolds built teams that streamlined Robinhood's ability to prevent and respond to major incidents.

Prior to his time in the tech industry Justin spent twelve years in the Foreign Service.

As Director for Russia and Central Asia on the National Security Council during Russia's 2014 invasion of Ukraine, he supported President Obama in developing and executing the U.S. response to Russia's aggression. He also drafted the administration’s policy for the five countries of Central Asia, and engaged extensively in the region to successfully advance U.S. interests.

While serving as U.S. State Department Spokesperson for Iranian affairs and leading the Persian Online Engagement Team, he increased understanding of U.S. objectives by conducting daily briefings with members of the media on all issues related to Iran. He also served in Moscow, Baghdad, Shanghai, and the Office of Iraq Affairs.

Reynolds received his BA in International Relations and MA in German Studies from Stanford University and his JD from the University of Iowa.
