Athena Leadership Project

CNAS collaborates with the Athena Leadership Project, helmed by Adjunct Senior Fellows and Athena Leadership Project directors Jeannette Gaudry Haynie, PhD and Kyleanne Hunter, PhD. The Athena Leadership Project studies how gender-diverse teams and leaders shape national security and to use those observations to inform leaders, policy, and structure. The initiative is committed to building discussion and research on the study of leadership, gender, and security outcomes as well as elevating the voices of underrepresented and diverse leaders.

As part of this partnership, CNAS hosts Athena Leadership Project roundtable discussions with veterans and experts on subjects such as gender, leadership, diversity, and implications for readiness, and releases policy briefs that expand on Congressional and military action to address gender and national security.
