BIOGRAPHIES

Michael L. Burgoyne is a Major in the United States Army. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 where he served in al-Anbar province, Iraq. In 2005 he was deployed for a second time, where he commanded C Troop, Third Squadron, Seventh U.S. Cavalry and conducted hundreds of missions across Iraq from Al Qiam to Southeast Baghdad, including the execution of the Iraqi Constitutional Referendum and the first Iraqi Parliamentary Election. He has also served as an instructor at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, CA.

Albert J. Marckwardt, also a Major in the United States Army, deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Squadron Logistics Officer in 2005 supporting missions throughout Eastern Baghdad. He deployed for a second time as part of the "surge" in 2007, he commanded B Troop, Third Squadron, Seventh U.S. Cavalry where he controlled the densely populated and volatile Adhamiyah region in the heart of Baghdad. He conducted hundreds of Lethal and Non-Lethal mission to include the establishment of the Concerned Local Citizens in the area. His most recent assignment was aide-de-camp to the Commanding General, Third Infantry Division at Fort Stewart, Georgia.
