The Center for a New American Security (CNAS) hosted a discussion featuring current Army Chief of Staff General Raymond Odierno on Friday, April 5, 2013. GEN Odierno discussed how the Army is restructuring itself to meet today's security environment while facing the challenges associated with budget cuts and drawdown from two overseas wars.

GEN Odierno became the Army's Chief of Staff on September 7, 2011. He previously served as Commander of US Joint Forces Command and as Commanding General of both Multi-National and U.S. forces in Iraq.

The CNAS National Security Leaders Forum speaker series was established to provide a space for Republican, Democratic, civilian and military leaders to come together to develop new strategies to address the critical national security challenges facing the nation.
