On May 29, 2013 the Center for a New American Security participated in an exercise hosted by the Center for Strategic and Budgetary Assessments. The event, which also included the American Enterprise Institute and the Center for Strategic and International Studies, focused on developing defense strategies for rebalancing DoD’s portfolio of capabilities with a reduced budget. Led by CEO Robert Work, the CNAS team stressed the upcoming global shift towards new warfare in which the United States faces adversaries with guided munitions network parity, the rise of cyber warfare is an integral part of war fighting doctrine, and robotic and autonomous unmanned systems are ubiquitous.
