Brooke Neuman is General Stanley McChrystal's chief of staff. In this role, she coordinates and implements policies
and guidelines to maintain effective organizational operations and
communications. Her duties also include speech writing and development,
researching geopolitical trends, as well as creating intellectual capital for
McChrystal Group.

Prior
to joining the McChrystal Group, Ms. Neuman worked in the Office of the Secretary
of Defense for Policy. While working on middle east defense policy, she
was the country director for United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, as well as the Political Team
Leader on the Iraq policy desk. While
working on Central Asia, Ms. Neuman was detailed to Commander, International Security Assistant Force’s Strategic
Advisory Group in Kabul as a policy advisor.
Upon her return to the Pentagon, she became the Governance/Development
Team Lead for Afghanistan. Before
joining the Department of Defense, she worked in the Military and Security
Studies Program at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

Ms. Neuman holds a B.A. in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins University, as well
as a graduate diploma in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins School
of Advanced International Studies.
