Gibbs McKinley is a Research Associate for the Executive Team at CNAS. Her work encompasses U.S. national security, the history of U.S. foreign policy, and global threats to democracy.

Gibbs previously worked on the Countering Foreign Authoritarian Influence program in the Center for Global Impact at the International Republican Institute. She also has prior experience working on transatlantic relations, both for the Transatlantic Security Program at CNAS and at the Center on the United States and Europe at the Brookings Institution. She previously interned with the U.S. Department of State at Embassy Valletta, Malta.

Gibbs earned her MA from the Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce at the University of Kentucky, and a first-class honors degree in modern history from the University of St. Andrews, in Scotland.
