Quantitative Scientific Solutions
Dr. Michael Patterson is a Lead Scientist at Quantitative Scientific Solutions supporting the Intelligence Community (IC). Dr. Patterson leverages his expertise in biotechnology, biodefense, and program management to implement and manage research and development programs across numerous technical fields. These research programs include COVID-19 response efforts, advancing proteomic-based forensics, enabling detection of engineered organisms, improving threat analysis of synthetic DNA, and developing multimodal sensing modeling approaches for behavioral analysis.
Prior to supporting the IC, he supported the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) –Cooperative Biological Engagement Program supporting international partners to reduce the global biological risk to the United States. His portfolio spanned Europe, Africa, and Southeast Asia supporting research projects, engaging with foreign policy makers, and establishing multi-national biosecurity coalitions.
Dr. Patterson holds a Ph.D. in Experimental Pathology and Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Texas Galveston Medical Branch and a BA from Whitman College. He lives in Maryland with his wife, daughter, son, and fluffy white dog.
