Long-serving Capitol Hill Advisor Daniel Silverberg Joins CNAS as an Adjunct Senior Fellow

Washington, October 14, 2021—The Center for a New American Security is pleased to announce that Daniel Silverberg, former National Security Advisor to the House Majority Leader, will join as an Adjunct Senior Fellow.

"With well over a decade at the center of national security policy debates on Capitol Hill, at the Pentagon, and now in the private sector, Daniel will bring essential perspectives to CNAS," said CEO Richard Fontaine. "I'm thrilled that he is joining our community and look forward to the contributions he will make to our work."

In addition to his current role as Capstone’s Managing Director of Corporate Practice, Silverberg also co-leads the company’s National Security Team. Silverberg previously served as the National Security Advisor to House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, where he coordinated foreign policy legislation and informed Congressional leadership on major geopolitical developments. He also served as Majority counsel to the House Foreign Affairs Committee, as well as an attorney for the Department of Defense, working with counterterrorism and partnership strategy offices.

Silverberg provides commentary to CNN, NPR, The Atlantic, and other media on key foreign policy matters. He commenced his legal career as an Associate with Orrick, Herrington, & Sutcliffe LLP. He is a graduate of Stanford Law School and Harvard College.
