Dear U.S. Army: Please stop threatening to kill your anthropologists

I came across this bizarre website accusing me of not being outspoken enough in defense of anthropologists who are threatened by the U.S. soldiers with whom they serve. I was a) not aware of the Marilyn Dudley-Flores case and b) didn't think it entirely necessarily to stress that U.S. soldiers not kill their human terrain teams. (I thought that not killing your HTT would have been, you know, SOP or something. Maybe not doctrine, but certainly SOP.)

But hey, in case some of you out there in Afghanistan or Iraq are thinking of killing your anthropologists, we here at the blogging team of Abu Muqawama would respectfully ask you not to do so. That is not cool. The anthropologists are our friends.
