'A set-back for Al Qaeda': Leader al-Zawahiri killed in CIA drone strike

By Richard Fontaine

United States president Joe Biden has confirmed Al Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahri has been killed in a counter-terrorism strike in the Afghan capital Kabul. The Taliban condemned the strike, calling it a violation of international principles. ABC NewsRadio's Thomas Oriti spoke with Richard Fontaine, chief executive of the Centre for New American Security, and former foreign policy advisor to US Senator John McCain.
