Biden Administration Scrambles to Defend Its Middle East Policy After Hamas Attacks

Foreign policy experts – many of whom despise Trump – fret that the issue is being politicized in a presidential campaign season and say it’s unfair to lay the blame on Biden for the terror attacks in Israel.

“To say that Donald Trump would have known about this is a stretch to say the least,” said Richard Fontaine, the chief executive officer for the Center for a New American Security who served as a foreign policy adviser to the late Sen. John McCain, a Trump critic. “I mean, this was a significant intelligence failure for Israel.”
