Poland may soon have one of the strongest NATO armies: U.S. defense expert

“This purchase makes a lot of sense. Assault helicopters are great tank killers. And if only Ukraine had an Apache now, it could not only destroy Russian tanks but also fire Hellfire missiles at some of the obstacles that now stand in their way in their current offensive,” the expert pointed out.

He further mentioned that, given the terrain and the type of threats Poland faces from the east, it’s hard to find a better buy.

“Especially since they are used in conjunction with our own tanks. And, of course, Poland has bought, in addition to a large number of Korean tanks, also American M1A2s, which the Apaches are designed to work with. So this is a great move,” Townsend assesses.
