U.S. Industry Dodges Bullet
It could have been worse. Much worse.
Most of the U.S. defense sector dodged a bullet last week when Defense Secretary Robert Gates unveiled the results of his efficiencies initiative. The Pentagon was able to buy more, while also mostly absorbing a $78 billion five-year cut directed by the White House.
