Anna Pederson is the Joseph S. Nye, Jr. Intern for Communications at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).

Anna comes from the other Washington, where she received her undergraduate degree in English Literature from Seattle University. Anna is pursuing her Master’s degree in Strategic Public Relations with a focus on public affairs and media at Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California.

Previously, Anna was the Marketing Manager for renowned graphic novel publisher, Fantagraphics Books before transitioning to the world of policy and politics. Since then, Anna has been an intern in the district office of Congressman Adam Schiff, with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and was a fellow was the USC Center on Public Diplomacy.

Anna is an avid news and non-fiction reader of a variety of topics, with a great interest in foreign affairs, internet governance and mis/disinformation. After graduation, she hopes to continue raising awareness about the intersectionality of the world’s most pressing issues.
