Cameron Olbert is a Joseph S. Nye, Jr. intern for the Transatlantic Security Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).

Before joining CNAS, Olbert worked in local politics in Michigan and interned at Partnership for a Secure America, where he supported educational programming for congressional staff on topics ranging from the defense industrial base to the Third Sudanese Civil War. During his undergraduate studies, he interned in the Pentagon’s Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Europe and NATO, where he supported Defense Department and interagency engagement with South and Central European allies and partners.

Olbert holds an undergraduate degree in international relations from the University of Edinburgh, where his undergraduate dissertation examined the NATO interventions in Bosnia and Kosovo through the lens of airpower theory.
