Maria Dooling

Maria Dooling is an Associate Fellow with the AI Security and Stability Project at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). She focuses on the national security implications of artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies, with an emphasis on international cooperation, strategic stability, and risk reduction.

Prior to CNAS, Dooling worked for a defense technology start-up on secure adoption and diffusion challenges. She was previously a policy fellow with the National Security Commission on Emerging Biotechnology and worked at CRDF Global, where she implemented U.S. Department of State International Security and Nonproliferation (ISN) biosecurity and nuclear security capacity building projects with foreign partners.

Dooling holds an MPA from the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs and a BS in Biochemistry from Arizona State University. She was a 2019 Boren Scholar to Jordan and a 2020 Fulbright Scholar to Malaysia.
