Celeste Wetmore is a Joseph S. Nye, Jr., intern for the Middle East Security Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), where she supports research projects and analysis.
Wetmore is pursuing a BA at the University of Virginia (UVA), where she studies foreign affairs and English as an Echols Scholar. She works as a research assistant at UVA’s National Security Policy Center, where her research topics have included the future of U.S. strategic partnerships for the space domain, rare earth element supply chain development, and strategic burden sharing scenarios for NATO in Europe. She has also interned for U.S. Central Command, covering security in the Levant. Wetmore is completing an honors thesis in the politics department this upcoming academic year before her graduation in 2027.
