Christian Font

Christian Font is the art director at the Center for New American Security (CNAS), where he makes complex ideas easier to understand through visual storytelling. Font designs reports, information graphics, and data visualizations for web, print, and social. He also creates and commissions illustrations, supports CNAS’s brand identity, designs for events and interiors, and maintains design systems.

Prior to joining CNAS, Font worked at The Washington Post for more than 14 years, most recently as a design editor focusing on digital and interactive design. He edited visuals for several coverage areas, including investigative, wellness, and local, and he managed a group of designers that worked hand-in-hand with editors and reporters to elevate the Post’s storytelling. Before becoming a design editor, Font was a designer for The Washington Post Magazine. Earlier, he worked many years in a variety of roles, including as the sports design director, at the Sun Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Font is originally from Miami, where he studied at Florida International University and was an editor at the student newspaper, The Beacon. He lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife, Claudia, and their daughter, Violeta.
