Colleen Kristy

Colleen Kristy is an associate editor at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS), where she works with the research, communication, and publication teams on the Center’s written products. Before joining CNAS in July 2026, she was a copy editor at The Washington Post and member of the Post Guild. Kristy graduated cum laude from the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a minor in global terrorism studies. During undergrad, she was a research assistant at the National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism. She also worked at the Baltimore Business Journal as a Dow Jones News Fund intern.

Kristy can often be found rearranging her bookshelves to cram as many books in as possible.
