Dalhya Gómez

Dalhya Gómez is a former Joseph S. Nye Intern for the Development Team at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).

Before joining CNAS, Dalhya interned at Vital Voices Global Partnership with their Leadership and Social Impact team. She conducted research on the disproportionate educational attainment of girls in Latin America as a result of COVID-19, which included case studies from participants of the Voices That Inspire program in Brazil, Guatemala, and Panama.

Dalhya recently graduated Cum Laude from the University of California, Irvine, with a B.A. in International Studies, with a concentration in the Asian region and global issues and institutions. Her Senior Honors Thesis focused on the Japanese birth rate crisis where she analyzed policies that aim to incentivize child rearing and the economic, political and gendered social norms that deter women from having children.
