Deputy Director of Development
Kayvan Chinichian is the Deputy Director of Development at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS). He works closely with the Center’s Vice President of Development and Program Directors to manage and coordinate overall Center fundraising. He is also the principal manager for activities related to the CNAS Council program.
Mr. Chinichian has a decade’s experience in non-profit management and think tank fundraising. Prior to joining CNAS, Mr. Chinichian was at the Atlantic Council as the Associate Director for Individual Membership and at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy as the Development Operations Officer. He also has extensive private consulting experience for smaller non-profits.
Mr. Chinichian has his M.A. from the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs in Middle East Studies, and a B.A. in Political Science from the California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo.
Mr. Chinichian is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the California State Society, and the Young Professionals in Foreign Policy (YPFP).
