Lieutenant (LT) James Eggers is an active-duty U.S. Coast Guard officer and graduate student in Instructional Systems and Learning Technologies at Florida State University. He is studying how training design, leadership development, and emerging technologies influence operational performance and force readiness. He previously served as an Assault Force Commander in the Deployable Specialized Forces with Maritime Security Response Team, leading Direct Action Sections and working on counter-drone challenges in maritime security environments. He has also served as a Search and Rescue Mission Coordinator, managing complex, high-risk operations. Before joining the Coast Guard, LT Eggers was a Teach For America corps member teaching in underserved communities. He holds a graduate degree in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and has a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Northeastern University. LT Eggers is a McCain Global Leader, Fulbright Scholar, Aspen Institute Global Changemaker, and Atlantik-Brücke Young Leader.
