Maxine Jacobson

Maxine Jacobson currently serves as an Attorney-Advisor in the Office of Chief Counsel, advising the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. In this role, Maxine advises on the development, implementation, enforcement, and removal of U.S. sanctions. Prior to this position, Maxine served as a Senior Sanctions Policy Advisor at OFAC where she shaped key sanctions actions under OFAC's Russia-related sanctions program. Prior to joining the U.S. government, Maxine worked as an associate at an international law firm, where she focused her practice on compliance and investigations. Maxine holds a B.A. from Tufts University, an M.A. from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and a J.D. from University of Virginia School of Law. Originally from Philadelphia, Maxine now lives in Washington, DC where she enjoys playing tennis and volleyball and trying new local restaurants with her husband.
