Michael Angeloni

Former Intern, Transatlantic Security Program

Michael Angeloni is a former Joseph S. Nye, Jr. Intern for the Transatlantic Security Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).

Before joining CNAS, Michael interned with the International Republican Institute (IRI), where he worked on issues related to global election integrity, emerging technologies, and countering Russian and Chinese malign influence campaigns. Within the Center for Global Impact, he supported IRI's technical advancement programming to mitigate electoral violence and promote inclusivity in elections.

Michael is currently pursuing an MA in Democracy and Governance at Georgetown University, with a research focus on enhancing democratic institutions and reducing conflict in fragile states. He holds a BA in Politics and International Affairs from Wake Forest University, where his studies culminated in a research thesis examining Vladimir Putin’s unique brand of authoritarianism in the broader context of Russian history.
