Adjunct Senior Fellow, Energy, Economics and Security Program
Michael Mosier is an Adjunct Senior Fellow at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS) and the Chief Technical Counsel at cryptocurrency analytics, compliance and investigations company Chainalysis. He joined Chainalysis from the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), where he was Chief of Strategic Advancement. Prior to FinCEN, he was Associate Director at Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), leading OFAC’s Office of Sanctions Policy & Implementation and Office of Compliance & Enforcement. Before Treasury, Michael was Deputy Chief in the Department of Justice’s Money Laundering & Asset Recovery Section. He also served a tour at the White House National Security Council as Director for Transnational Organized Crime. He began his public service as a prosecutor with the Manhattan District Attorney, and has served as an adjunct law professor at Georgetown University Law Center.
