Reema Khan is the founder and CEO of Green Sands, a Silicon Valley– and Zurich- based venture capital firm focused on investment in AI, Deep Tech, and space. Green Sands was ranked among top 11 investors in the U.S. by Fortune Magazine in 2022. As a leading entrepreneur and investor, Khan has built Green Sands Equity into a powerhouse for Deep Tech and geopolitically informed strategic investments with stakes in iconic companies like SpaceX, Axiom Space, X Energy, Pasqal, Colossal, Paradromics, Spotify, and Airbnb. She is a senior advisor to the CEOs of multibillion-dollar Deep Tech companies like Axiom Space, Sandbox AI & Quantum, and Colossal.
Khan is a recipient of the 2026 Ellis Island Medal of Honor for her contributions to the United States. Since 2018, Khan has been an ambassador to the United Nations on behalf of Royal Academy of Science International Trust.
She is a trustee of the SETI Institute and chairwoman of its endowment. The SETI Institute is a scientific organization, substantially funded by NASA grants, dedicated to investigating the nature of the universe and the prevalence of life beyond Earth. In philanthropic endeavors, Khan endowed the Green Sands AI Fund at MIT. At SLAC Stanford, she endows the SAGE program. Annually, she awards the Green Sands Prize to leaders who have made a profound impact on society. Recipients have included NASA astrophysicist Dr. Jill Tarter; 43rd Treasurer of the United States, Rosie Rios; Space X COO Gwynne Shotwell; and NIH Lead under Dr. Anthony Fauci, Kizzmekia Corbett. Khan lectures at Stanford and the Berkeley Haas School of Business on diplomacy, investment, and entrepreneurship.
