Staff Director for Energy Storage at Albemarle

Rob is the Senior Director of the Energy Storage Staff at Albemarle Corporation, one of the largest suppliers of lithium in the world. He supports the president of the Energy Storage business and is responsible for strategy implementation.

Rob has been working at Albemarle for the last eight years. While there he has held roles in the Bromine business, Catalysts business and now Lithium. His roles have spanned across communications, product management, supply chain and strategy.

Prior to coming to Albemarle, Rob was in the United States Navy for eleven years. While serving, Rob was a Surface Warfare Officer, serving onboard seagoing warships for seven years. He deployed to the Persian Gulf three times and the South China Sea twice. During this time, he also served in the President’s Emergency Operations Center at the White House for three years.

As a lifelong learner, Rob holds a degree in Political Science from the United States Naval Academy and a Master’s in Business Administration from UNC Chapel Hill. He was listed as one of Charlotte’s 40 under 40 in 2018, one of CNAS’s Next Generation National Security leaders in 2010 and is a proud Eagle Scout.

Rob is very happily married to Amber McFall, they have three kids (Elle – 11, Henry – 4, Samuel – 1) and reside in Charlotte North Carolina.
