Rory Dixon is a Joseph S. Nye, Jr. intern for development at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).

Prior to joining CNAS, Dixon interned with the Middle East Institute, where he researched Middle East geopolitics in the wake of October 7th as Brian Katulis’ research assistant. Dixon also previously interned with the Wilson Center’s Middle East Program as a staff assistant and the Institute for Strategic Dialogue as a research analyst. In January 2025, he coauthored an article in US News and World Report on the soft power implications of the “TikTok refugees” migration to RedNote.

Dixon graduated from Georgetown University with a BS in international politics and a minor in African studies. His undergraduate research examined the domestic impact of water scarcity on women in Jordan. While at Georgetown, Dixon advocated for first-generation and/or low-income students, serving as community development coordinator with the Georgetown Scholars Program.
