Salman Husain is an international affairs and humanitarian policy specialist with over a decade of experience spanning the U.S. State Department, international aid organizations, and the private sector. His work aims to strengthen human security in fragile and conflict-affected settings. Salman has led high-stakes initiatives across complex humanitarian emergencies, advancing U.S. foreign policy priorities through advocacy, system strengthening, and support to local populations impacted by displacement and conflict. His professional background includes field-based experience in Lebanon, Jordan, and Turkey, as well as published research on the Syrian refugee crisis. A Johns Hopkins University alumnus and former civil servant, Salman is particularly interested in how human security frameworks can inform more effective, sustainable U.S. engagement in fragile states.
