Shivane Anand
Former Joseph S. Nye, Jr. Intern, Middle East Security Program
Shivane Anand is a former Joseph S. Nye, Jr. Intern for the Middle East Security Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).
Prior to joining CNAS, he graduated from George Washington University in Spring of 2024 with a major in International Affairs and minors in International Business and Spanish. He was most recently an intern for the Virtual Student Federal Service Program, as well as the American Foreign Service Association. And at these positions, he simultaneously examined competition in Global Talent Pipeline for the State Department and barriers to entry in the Foreign Service. Shivane has also worked as an intern for Congressman Gerald E. Connolly (D-VA-11), where he focused on the Congressman's work with the House Foreign Affairs Committee and constituent issues with the Middle East.
