Research Areas

Sitara Gupta is an intern for the Indo-Pacific Security Program at the Center for a New American Security (CNAS).

Prior to joining CNAS, Gupta interned at the Center for the Study of the Presidency and Congress in Washington, D.C., the Center for Social and Economic Progress in New Delhi, India, and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in Rabat, Morocco. Across these roles, she contributed to research and policy initiatives on foreign affairs, governance, and sustainable development, with projects spanning the United States, South Asia, and North Africa.

Gupta recently completed her BA in global studies, with a concentration in peace and conflict, and psychology, and with a minor in public policy, from the University of California, Berkeley. While at Berkeley, she served as editor-in-chief at the Institute of European Studies.
